2008 Award Recipient
Ronit, a passionate environmentalist and scientist, was deeply motivated to help individuals of all ages understand the environment and natural world. Serving as the San Diego Zoo’s 2008 Arctic Ambassador for the Year of the Polar Bear, Ronit spent time in the Canadian Arctic studying the effect of climate change on the polar bear and updating students around the world on her findings and their impact.

The San Diego Zoo’s Arctic Ambassador program enabled Ronit to study the effects of climate change on Arctic polar bear habitat and to engage students in issues of climate change, habitat, and species survival issues.
