Natalie Hampton
Sherman Oaks, CA | 16
2018 Award Recipient
In middle school, persistent bullying forced Natalie Hampton to eat lunch alone every single day. This experience sparked the idea for Sit with Us, a free lunch-planning mobile app that helps middle and high school students coordinate lunches with friends or look for open invitations to lunch tables. As the founder and CEO of Sit With Us, Inc., Natalie conducts outreach, school visits, and provides instructional materials to other youth interested in acting as Ambassadors or chapter leaders. She is also president of her school’s club. In 2016, the app was released for iOS in the Apple Store and was featured by Apple under “New Apps We Love.” Sit With Us has gained more than 100,000 users in eight countries, received numerous awards, and is featured at the Smithsonian Museum. Thus far, six anti-bullying organizations have partnered with Sit With Us, Inc. Natalie has been selected as an Outstanding Youth Delegate at the United Nations Youth Assembly and has spoken at TEDxTeen London, Girls Can Do, and Say No Bullying.
